It happened to the school folk last time, it happened to the Tea Bag Party this time, it will happen to the school folk again if they make radical decisions.

Use the measure function in the county's GIS system. You'll find that the length of pipe from the intake on the James and up the pipeline to Rte 6 is less than a mile, not the four miles you are reporting. The total length of the Louisa pipeline through Fluvanna County is just over 12,5 miles.

I THINK THE AQUA PUBLIC HEARING IS A SMOKE SCREEN TO COVER UP THE BACKROOM DEAL ON THE JRWA , WHICH DOES NOT NEED A PUBLIC HEARING. GOD HELP US IF BOTH WATER LINE DEALS ARE APPROVED FOR WE WOULD INDEED HAVE THE HIGHEST TAX RATE IN THE ENTIRE STATE VERY SOON. ONLY MY OPINION AND I HOPE I AM WRONG.

If my granddaughter's experience yesterday at the Fluvanna Middle School is any indication of the communication style students were subjected to by the new principal, Dr. Yardley Farquharson, one hour will hardly be enough time to cover the situation, let alone discuss anything else.

The title of this article is not completely accurate. The Schools are not requesting $450k from the Supervisors. Rather, the Superintendent is informing the BOS of a supplemental funding requirement which the BOS must fulfill. The BOS is the appropriating body and is responsible for the budget they appropriated. This is not a result of misuse of budget by the schools, rather the funding revenue shortfall from the state.

Your reply doesn't even make sense. The fact STILL REMAINS that the current BOS gave almost 20K to fund a team because they were told that there wasn't an option for 7th graders and there was all along. If the BOS knows about the other league, they are dumber than we all thought.

7th grade is a funny age where you have some big and some little kids depending on growth spurts and such. The other league have gotten really bureaucratic with restriction on size and weight, making many ineligible to play. This league will help bridge the gap and get kids ready for 8th grade/HS football.

The current BOS knows about the other league. It is an area-wide group. This league will fall under the umbrella of the Fluvanna Parks and Rec. Big difference.

FYI BOS - There is and has been a league where the children of Fluvanna (including 7th graders) have played football for years. They practice in Fluvanna and many games are played there as well. Maybe you should have done your homework before handing 20K out to fund yet another league. Yet another reason why the current board needs to be replaced.

We already have recreational football in Fluvanna, Thomas Jefferson League and Pop Warner, why would the county fund another team? Just saying.
